Commissioners and Staff



Aaron Simental became the CSEA Appointee to the Commission on December 1, 2016.  Mr. Simental is a long time resident and proactive member of the community.  He has served the community by participating in many local organizations, and looks forward to further serving Bassett's students, classified employees, and community by supporting the merit system and quality education.  His term expires on December 1, 2022.


Lori Workman became the Joint Appointee to the Commission on December 1, 2009 and served as Commission Chairperson prior to Ms. Wallery.  Ms. Workman currently serves as the Member of the Personnel Commission.  She has worked in both private and public school districts.  Ms. Workman currently works at Bishop Amat High School.  Her term expires December 1, 2021.


Jennifer Perez became the District Appointee to the Commission on December 1, 2017.  Ms. Perez has been a resident of the Bassett community for over 20 years.  She has served the community by serving on the Bassett Head Start Policy Committee for the 2016-17 school year and the Head Start Health Advisory Committee. Ms. Perez currently works for the Probation Department providing rehabilitative services to at risk youth. Her term expires on December 1, 2020.

The Bassett Unified School District Personnel Commission has three staff assigned on a full-time basis to carry out the functions and work of the Commission.

Jode Howard is the Personnel Director at Bassett Unified School District. Ms. Howard received her bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management from California State University, Fullerton and brings with her over 14 years experience in human resources and operations management and specializes in customer focus, recruitment, selection, job analysis, and fostering collaborative working relationships among stakeholders. 

Jonnell Sanchez is the Personnel Analyst at Bassett Unified School District. Ms. Sanchez received her bachelor's degree in Communications from California State University, Fullerton and brings over 10 years of experience in client relations as well as determining minimum qualifications, developing job descriptions, and hiring exceptional candidates.

Brittany Hernandez is the Personnel Technician at Basset Unified School District. Ms. Hernandez received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Arizona State University and brings with her 5 years of experience in providing administrative support for public education, specifically at the school site level.  Additionally, she has over 7 years of experience in customer support.
